Porn Addiction and Twelve (or so) Alarming Trends, Pt. 3
An entire generation has been asleep at the wheel when it comes to protecting our children against the pandemic that is Porn!
What do the following dates have in common?

531 A.D.

They all serve as markers for country-wide or global epidemics that took millions of lives.
Let’s add another one to the list:
2008
That’s the year social media apps began to explode on smartphones and tablets.
It’s also the year when most Americans began buying these tablets for children as young as age eight.
Most importantly, however, it’s the year when free-streaming porn became a “thing.”
It will be the year that marks the global porn pandemic that’s taking millions of lives, one child at a time.
These dates bring me to two more of my Alarming Trends Directly Traceable to Porn.

The fullest ramifications of the Porn-pandemic are still a generation away!
The UK recently reported that the youngest recorded person to be addicted to Viagra is fifteen years old. His Viagra addiction began so that he could support his porn addiction. His porn addiction began at age twelve, when he began viewing it on his smart phone. Just two years ago a twelve-year-old boy was sentenced for repeatedly raping his younger sister after becoming fascinated by hardcore pornography, which he viewed via the web.
Last year, an elementary school in New York was rocked when a thirteen-year-old boy lured a disabled peer into the school bathroom and watched as a group of his friends assaulted her, demanding she perform a variety of sex acts on them.
Studies reveal that over fifty percent of children ages 7 – 17 view porn regularly and over sixty percent of them confess that their first exposure to porn was unsolicited. You read that right. Usually children do not seek porn as much as porn seeks children! There are over 100,000 web searches every day that are related to child porn.
Here’s the deal: we’ve raised an entire generation of children in a porn saturated world and we’ve stood by and watched as porn has invaded their lives. While we are beginning to see the ramifications of this (revenge porn, sexual aggression primarily directed at girls, addictions occurring at earlier and earlier ages) we’ve yet to see just how bad it will get before it gets better.

Pornography is at the root of most of the social problems we face today!
It’s a fact that when a global business builds its revenue share off of dehumanization, particularly that of women, the culture which allows such advancement cannot help but pay for it on the back side.
Today, more than ever, we are plagued with a host of “-isms” such as racism, sexism, ageism, that can all be traced to a proclivity to get our delights at the expense of someone else’s dignity.
The disastrous social impact porn has had in our world is more acutely felt among women than any other subset of the culture. The multiple forms of sexual fantasy that are portrayed on a host of porn sites, have become the expected norm among young people.
More and more, we are finding, young girls are giving into the demand for anal sex just to please their porn saturated boyfriends.
As I noted in a previous post, most forms of porn that are popularly watched are forms that constitute the most debase genres: MILF, step-sister, step-mom, incest, lesbian, teen, cartoon, etc.
Well, we’ve not even begun to consider the full ramifications of behavioral disorders such consumption is producing. Ramifications like an innocent young girl being sexually assaulted by her classmates while attending school.
Consider, for example a 2016 meta-analysis of porn which revealed that teens who regularly consume porn reported experiences of reinforcing gender stereotypes, earlier sexual debut, experimentation with casual sex, and, most importantly, increased sexual aggression against others both as perpetrators and victims.
We may not all be addicted to porn, but we’re all porn-addicts now!
It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that these boys who abused this girl have been and are actively consuming porn. It’s odd that the paper refers to the girl as the one with the disability. It’s clear, to me at least, that it’s the boys who are acting in sub-human ways.
I began this post by identifying a half-dozen plagues this world has experienced. These six plagues alone (there are many more) claimed 150 million lives.
The Porn pandemic has silently claimed that many lives already. The number is climbing steadily, day by day, minute by minute, click by click.
You may not be a porn addict, but we’re all porn addicts now.
